Thanks for a fun 1st week! Just a bit of housekeeping before the results:
- Hosts: Score cards are your responsibility on the nights you host. (This is in return for not having to “travel”:) Please print score cards from email sent to you for all teams competing at your site. At the end of the night, please take a picture of ALL teams’ cards at your site and TEXT (do not email….it reduces the quality of photo and numbers are no longer legible), and send to me. My number will be on the bottom of the card for your convenience.
- Hosts: Please take 10-15 minutes at the beginning of each night to go over the workouts with the athletes and judges in a short meeting. I received some videos of some TERRIBLE standards, which obviously takes some of the fun out of this whole community event. Let’s work together as a community and hold each other accountable. It starts with our standards that we have taken the time to write out for you, then moves onto a meeting at each site so all athletes and judges are on the same page, and then onto the judges to not be afraid to no rep when a standard is not being met. There should be no reason to be afraid to no rep if the standards were clearly discussed in the meeting.
- Remember…you are bringing a judge to judge THE OTHER TEAM, so no bro reps from your own judge. Also, as noted in the rules this year, we are allowing non-working teammates to judge the other team. However, if you choose to do this, you need to be organized and know who is going to judge each WOD. It is easy to get caught up in cheering your team on and then we get caught in a situation where the WOD has started on the running clock, and no judge is in place. This is unacceptable. If you can’t plan ahead, and stick to the plan, then I would suggest bringing a non-teammate judge with you. This is one of those little things that make a big difference in how the evening will go, and we all want each week to run as smoothly as possible.
- Reminder: All matches are done on a RUNNING clock that is counting UP to keep rest time consistent across all sites. Please be sure to write down the time ON THE RUNNING CLOCK when asked on score cards.
Thanks for your help on these…I know we all work hard to make sure this season is fun for the teams and easy on the hosts. Keep up the good work on helping the hosts set up and clean up, as well as meeting some new people on the teams you are up against each week.
