Suzie Pettey

Suzie’s introduction to CrossFit was in the summer of 2009 while rehabilitating an ACL injury with us. A soccer player first, she quickly discovered the “magic in the movements” making her a player to be reckoned with on the field. While a member of the HFC ’93 Girls Black and Page H.S. team she has earned herself a scholarship to the University of St. Francis, outside of Chicago, IL. While playing soccer at the Univeristy of St. Francis, Suzie has taken up snowboarding and most recently been named the “Strongest Female on Campus” after taking 1st place in a StrongMan/Women Competition.

IMG_1584As one of Team Talons fire-breather’s, Suzie’s first hand experience in competition was at the Faction Games 2010, placing fifth as one of the youngest, age 17, competitors. Since her first experience in comeptition she has continued to improve and impress which has inspired a number of our young female athlete’s by her commitment, dedication and discipline to improve herself as an athlete and young lady.

Suzie had an outstanding showing during the 2011 CrossFit Open Sectionals in the Central East Region placing 27th out of over 350 females in a 5 state region. During the 2011 CrossFit Regionals in Columbus OH, Suzie was the youngest athlete competing at 18 yrs of age.
