Weightlifting (aka “Oly”, or Olympic Weightlifting)

Weightlifting refers to two of the most dynamic lifts you will find in a gym with a barbell, the Clean & Jerk, and the Snatch. These lifts are very technical, and take years to perfect. While many gyms choose to leave these our of their programming because of their difficulty not only to perform but also to teach, we embrace the challenge! The Oly class allows time to focus specifically on the technique of these lifts. These classes are currently offered 3x per week, and are included with an unlimited membership.

Team Training – Scheduled upon request

Tara and Dennis Cheatham, owners of Talon PTR, have an extensive background in soccer, giving them the ability to specialize in soccer team training.

Our athletes develop a foundation of general physical preparedness giving them the ability to perform any and all tasks demanded of them on the field in the game of soccer. Our staff has the knowledge and experience in both Strength & Conditioning as well as soccer to make sure every training session is a positive step to becoming a better soccer player.

Our athletes improve in the following ten domains: cardiovascular endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, accuracy and balance. By improving in all 10 areas, the athlete will develop a superior conditioning base of elite status giving them the confidence, power and strength required to excel.

The Talon PTR’s soccer program is a strength, conditioning, power, agility, and ball skill program all in one. It is used by teams and individual players, all looking to improve and elevate their game to the next level – whether it be making a difference on the local club or high school team, or at the international level playing for their country.

The staff at Talon PTR has designed this soccer specific program that brings universal scalability, making it the perfect application for any committed individual regardless of age or experience. Intertwining the Talon Performance Training techniques with a soccer ball is a completely unique methodology that is PROVEN TO WORK. The same routines and methods are used for the younger players as well as our most elite athletes. Talon PTR scales load and intensity; we don’t change programs. The needs of our elementary athletes and our elite level soccer players differ by degree, not kind.

Talon PTR incorporates many team building techniques into the training as well, allowing teams to learn and utilize each individual members’ strengths and weaknesses, creating a stronger team, both on and off the field.
