Eli Gould

IMG_4821Hailing from West Texas, Eli started his fitness journey in the early nineties when introduced to mountain biking. Soon thereafter it developed into an obsession and Eli proceeded to develop a vast expertise on all things bicycle related. Before, during, and after college, Eli worked in bicycle shops building, repairing, selling, and managing while using all of his spare time to train and race in various road and off-road circuits throughout the state.

Additionally, Eli is no stranger to the group fitness dynamic; he worked for several years as a spin instructor for a local gym in Texas coaching groups through their workout session and he was also able to participate as a coach for the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society’s Team in Training program. Through that program, Eli was able to coach riders (some of whom hadn’t ridden a bike since third grade) to being able to ride a complete century.

In 2005, Eli moved to Nashville to explore the eastern side of the Mississippi. After getting a so-called “real” job, Eli found that he was no longer able to put in the necessary time to train and compete at high levels. Eventually, he fell out of shape and became bored of his regular riding regimen.

IMG_2260Move ahead to 2012 and Eli discovered Crossfit and was instantly hooked! “It was new, it was fresh, and it was the closest thing that I had had that mimicked the heart-pounding euphoria of a finish line sprint,” he says. The habit became a hobby and the hobby became a passion so Eli decided to acquire his Level 1 Certification. With the certification under his belt his goal is to eventually merge Crossfit with his knowledge of endurance training to help anyone that wants to participate or compete in any type of event, whether it be a Crossfit competition, a triathlon, or a 100 mile bicycle ride on the roads of Tennessee.

Eli explains, “Ultimately, for me, my motivation lies in empowering others to achieve their goals. Most people don’t realize what they have the ability to accomplish-sometimes they just need someone to nudge them along.”
